Episode 18 – Franquismo to Democracy, Consequences and Conclusions

The concluding episode of the podcast. I talk about the aftermath of the war, international treatment of Spain after WWII, the Franco years and what came afterward. It was an honor and a joy to produce this podcast for you all. Thank you for listening!

  1. Hi, Thank you for providing a fascinating and insightful series. Im still on episode 12 – and sometimes have to replay chunks or episodes as there’s so much to take in. But I am hooked! Im English but live in Galicia. The Spanish Civil War wasnt covered in our curriculum at school (long, long ago) and Im not so sure how well it is taught here in Spain(??). Thank you for educating me!

  2. Seth, I’ve just finished the whole series and thought that this was just outstanding. I’ve been studying the conflict for years but your podcast brought it alive. A mix of thorough research, well set out clarity of thought, facts, personal comment and humour. I have recommended and forwarded the link to a number of friends. Well done on making this complicated part of history so accessible.

  3. Hi Seth
I came to your excellent podcast a bit late but it allowed me to binge listen. I’m currently working in the Middle East and going about my daily routine with my ear pieces in made the days go much faster so thank you btw I found your show after listening to a series on Irishmen who fought on both sides which you touched on briefly what a fascinating, complex and tragic story so well researched and narrated 10/10 if you have other works I’d definitely tune in. I will recommend Iberian Knot to as many people as I can, all the best thanks
